Multilevel Anti-shear Grading Design Method Based on Theory of Granular Material Mechanics

Abstract

Through the analysis of granular particulate material mechanics model, authors acquired the formula of shear modulus to improve the anti-shearing performance of aggregate granular. According to the theory of multilevel filling, authors put forward the multilevel anti-shear(MAS) grading design method which was used to improve the anti-shearing-rheologic ability of asphalt mixture. An example of MAS was given and the pavement performance was tested which proved the rationality of multilevel anti-shear grading design method. Through comparing the MAS-16 and SMA-16, authors gave the application scope of multilevel anti-shear grading. Results show that high-temperature stability and water stability of multilevel anti-shear grading are all good which fit for application in high-temperature and rainy region.
