China Journal of Highway and Transport (Ei Compendex indexed) is one of the most authoritative academic journals in the field of highway transportation in China. It is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by the China Highway & Transportation Society, and undertaken by Chang’an University. Since its inception in 1988, the journal has consistently remained at the forefront of developments in highway transportation science and technology.
1. Scope of Publication
China Journal of Highway and Transport primarily publishes scientific research and engineering practice achievements that represent advanced theoretical and practical levels in the field of highway transportation. Contributions resulting from projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China or other major research initiatives are welcome. The journal encourages submissions from authors with practical experience and gives priority to such manuscripts.
The main scope of publication includes academic papers in the areas of road engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, traffic engineering, automotive engineering and vehicle application, logistics, economics and management, construction machinery, and other related fields. Additionally, the journal reports on new technologies, new materials, new processes, as well as major academic activities, engineering projects, and scientific and technological developments in highway transportation both domestically and internationally.
2. Submission
(1) Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the China Journal of Highway and Transport Submission Template and submitted online.
(2) Authors will generally receive an initial decision within three months. Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals is prohibited. If no decision notification is received within three months, the author may dispose of the manuscript as they see fit.
(3) The submission must clearly indicate the author’s name, gender, year of birth, place of origin, education background (degree), academic rank/position, research projects, full name of the affiliated institution and department, address, telephone number, email address, and postal code.
(4) If the manuscript may contain classified or restricted information, a non-disclosure certificate issued by the author’s institution is required.
(5) By submitting the manuscript, the author solemnly warrants that the paper is original, that the whole or any part of its content has never been previously published in any other journal in any form, that there is no simultaneous submission or redundant publication, and that there is no plagiarism or any other academic misconduct. The author also warrants that the paper does not contain any content that violates laws, regulations, or infringes upon the rights of others. Should any of the above issues be identified, the editorial office reserves the right, in order to uphold ethical standards and normal publishing order, to reject the manuscript, to issue a public notice naming the paper and the author(s) within the educational, scientific research, and peer journal communities, and to notify the relevant authorities to impose penalties on the lead author.
3. Copyright and Manuscript Acceptance
(1) The author is solely responsible for the content of the manuscript. The editors shall not alter the main content or fundamental arguments of the paper. Once accepted, the author must make necessary revisions, corrections, or deletions based on the reviewers’ comments, editorial queries, and the editorial office’s revision requirements. All text, figures, data, and information must be accurate and finalized in a single submission.
(2) Submission to this journal implies that the author warrants full copyright ownership of the paper and agrees to its submission and publication in this journal. The author agrees to automatically transfer the copyright to the editorial office, including rights for electronic publication, multimedia publication, online publication, and other forms of publication. The editorial office agrees that the author may continue to use the paper under the following circumstances: 1) patent applications; 2) academic presentations and lectures; 3) non-commercial academic exchanges; and 4) other activities permitted and authorized by the editorial office. If the paper fails to meet the journal’s publication standards and is not published in the journal, this agreement shall automatically become void.
(3) The journal promotes a strong scholarly ethos, strictly adheres to academic norms, and is committed to eliminating all forms of academic misconduct. If the manuscript infringes upon others’ copyright or moral rights, the author assumes full responsibility and shall compensate for all losses. Simultaneous submission is strictly prohibited. If duplicate publication occurs due to the author’s actions, the author bears full responsibility and all resulting losses. This journal is included in media such as the China Academic Journal (CD-ROM Edition). If the author does not wish for the paper to be distributed through such media, this must be clearly indicated on the first page of the manuscript. Before acceptance, the author is required to sign a copyright transfer agreement.
4. Rejection
(1) Unaccepted manuscripts will generally receive a rejection notification via email.
(2) If the author fails to return the revised manuscript within three months of receiving the acceptance notification and does not provide an explanation to the editorial office, it will be deemed as an automatic withdrawal of the manuscript.
