Study of Key Technology on Microwave Deicing Efficiency

Abstract

In order to improve the microwave deicing efficiency and achieve fast deicing in road maintaining in winter, the key factors of microwave deicing efficiency, frequency of microwave and road material were studied by simulation and experiment. Through the analysis of the microwave deicing efficiency, the time when the combination of ice and the pavement temperature reached 0 ℃ was proposed as the indicator of microwave deicing efficiency. Microwave decicing model was established. Using CST, Matlab and ANSYS simulation software, the conclusion that the microwave deicing efficiency, the microwave frequency and the material medium loss tangent have the direct ratio was educed. The rationality of simulation conclusion was confirmed through the experiment. Results show that compared with 2.45 GHz microwave and 5.8 GHz microwave, the latter can improve the microwave deicing efficiency by 4 times to 6 times. Compared with ordinary asphalt concrete pavement and magnetic material overlay, the latter can improve the deicing efficiency by 3 times to 5 times.
