Abstract

In order to quantitatively analyze the critical condition of sub-phase for motor vehicles and pedestrians in the intersections of new urban zones, using the theory of game model and the block mechanism for motor vehicles and pedestrians, authors got the complete calculated model for retardant time of pedestrians. Based on the principle that average delay is the smallest, when the saturations of pedestrians and right-turn motor vehicles are equal, the safety evaluating method and the math model of sub-phase setting for motor vehicles and pedestrians were proposed. The results show that the main conflicting style at intersections of new urban zones is the conflicts between right-turn motor vehicles and pedestrians. According to quantitative condition of sub-phase, two kinds of phases which are critical intersection and monitoring intersection can detach from dangerous intersections.
