Simplified Prediction Model of Salt Expansion Rate for Gravel Sulfite Saline Soil

Abstract

In order to make full use of gravel sulfite saline soil for road engineering, the factors controlling salt expansion deemed as the research cut-in point, the salt expansion tests with single factor were carried out. Based on the single factor salt expansion test results, the salt expansion tests for gravel sulfite soil under the interaction of multiple factors were performed with the orthogonal design method, and the simplified prediction model of salt expansion rate was established. The sensitive parameters for salt expansion of gravel sulfite saline soil were put forward using stepwise regression analysis of SPSS. The results show that the salt content of confined expansion is 0.5% and the failure salt content is 2.6% for gravel sulfite saline soil, under the normal operating conditions of the optimum water content and 93% compaction. Salt expansion rate with change pattern of the water content will be changed due to increased salinity. Salt expansion rate increases with the increase of initial dry density, and decreases with the increase of the additional load. According to the effect weight, the effects of sensitive parameters of gravel sulfite saline soil on the salt expansion rate sequentially are salinity content(0.379), water content(0.243), interaction of salinity and water content(0.166) and additional load(0.151).
