Test Technology Study of Hybrid Electric Vehicle Regeneration Braking Control Strategy

Abstract

For verifying control strategy of regenerative braking in developing hybrid electric vehicle, a kind of regenerative braking test device with good real-time and high simulation precision was developed. Chassis dynamometer was the unit that absorbs power and loads power and dSPACE system was real-time control unit. A plan was designed and test index of the test device was established. Experimental study was done on the established regenerative braking test device. The results show that the test device can meet work requirement while operation velocities are 30 km·h-1 and 60 km·h-1, braking intensities are 0.1 and 0.5, and road condition is long distance ramp. Test parameters change results of motor braking torque Tm and battery charged SOC agree with theoretical analysis. Testing response time is less than 0.1 s and simulation precision could be 95%. The test device has the quality of good real-time and high simulation precision compared with traditional test device based on engine dynamometer, which can quickly and accurately verify regeneration braking control strategies in hybrid electric vehicle.
